NEUROSCIENCE PRACTITIONER · PURE IMPACT

With over 27 years in education as a teacher, principal and SENCO, Kathryn brings a rare blend of classroom experience and applied neuroscience to her practice. Motivated by her own family’s search for answers to anxiety and mental health challenges, she trained in neurofeedback, Interactive Metronome and somatic therapies to help others build calmer, more resilient nervous systems.

NERVOUS SYSTEM & MENTAL HEALTH

Using passive infrared hemoencephalography, a gentle sensor worn on the forehead reads blood-flow activity in the Prefrontal Cortex (PFC) part of the brain, while you simply watch a movie. When activity in the PFC starts dropping, the movie pauses. You are then taught how to ease your body and breathing, and as you do so successfully, in real time you see evidence on the screen of increasing activity in the PFC part of your brain. This drug-free training helps your nervous system to become better balanced and regulated over time. As this happens symptoms for a variety of learning difficulties, and mental health conditions decrease, often to the point of no longer being noticed. These include: key symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, and many symptoms of a chronic stress response.

Interactive Metronome

NEURODIVERSE & LEARNING SUPPORT

A research-based, rhythm-driven training program that strengthens the brain’s internal timing through structured exercises with real-time feedback — sharpening focus, working memory and motor coordination as the brain learns to process and integrate experience more efficiently.

Kathryn uses it with students facing ADHD, autism, dyslexia, sensory processing challenges and developmental coordination difficulties, building the attention, sequencing and self-regulation skills that underpin learning.
